Nature's last hurrah...

Walking in the woodland recently I was caught out by the damp, moist smell of moss, trees and fallen leaves. Quite a different sense it seemed after so many months of dry weather. As I stood under the trees savouring the flavour of the woodland and inhaling the cool, damp air I was struck by childhood memories or rainy woodland dog walks of which there were many! It felt really fresh – as though the forest was having a last hurrah before bedding down for the leaner winter months. I could smell aliveness and microscopic growth. Who knew my nose could be so sensitive!

Welcome to the woodland of the Wye Valley and a sense of the wintering times ahead. Thank you for such a lovely walk @sarahcookstudio and the chance to catch up on all things in life, love, arts, nature and well-being xx
